Have you ever been wowed by adequate service? Ever raced home to tell your friends and family about a business experience because it was...okay? FINE? Super duper mediocre? Or because it met your expectations?   

Yeah, me neither! 

Which is why, if you want to earn a reputation for your customer service and turn even long-term customers into raving loyal fans, you need to STOP providing good customer service!

Why? Because your customers expect good customer service. We all do. So, if all you are doing is providing "good customer service" all you are doing is staying out of the customer service doghouse. All you are doing is meeting expectations, and research shows that merely meeting expectations isn't enough to create loyalty from your customers or generate word-of-mouth marketing. 

So you need to do one of two things (or both): 

1. Exceed your customers' expectations.  
2. Do something different to stand out from the herd. Something your competitors can't or won't do. Something to surprise and delight them. 

So, I will leave you with this challenge: How might you exceed your customers' expectations (whether they're internal or external customers) and what small thing could you do to delight them? 

Speaking of exceeding your customers expectations, I honestly can't think of a good reason you'd want to miss tomorrow's customer service virtual presentation!
